my friend posted this on myspace:
We who show horses for a living for life.
this is for those who get up at 4am...
to jump in the truck..
loading up the horses and loading up our too heavy of saddles..
getting to the show just in time to grab some show food...
those yummy greasy burgers is all they got...
you get on your horse to warm up and their not listening..
we all admit we get frusterated...
but you dont have time to change anything...
so you quickly pin on your that you forgot last minute..
and canter into the arena out of breath..
haha good times...
then it sucks waiting to see who placed...
where you could have placed really high or not at all..
you never know what the judge likes that day...
but hey..
just be happy you have a horse..
a trainer, a teacher, or lessons...
cause some cant afford it or cant have them....
so next time we get in the arena for a show...
every time we get a bit too frusterated...
stop and stare into your horses eyes...
and think "why am i so mad?"
its probably cause something stupid like "im gonna be late for my class" or " my STUPID horse wont listen"
and if you really love your horse you'll start crying...
and if you do it just cause you beat everyone else...
i sure hope you sell your horse to someone who will care...
cause i sure feel bad for your poor horse...
its true. i know so many people who should give up their horses because they don't love them like they should.
there is someone at my barn who owns a horse named makin money. and thats all she wants to do with him. she forces him to do his best and he is only 3. and he is under loads of pressure.
