toby north,
the looks,
Toby's hair seems to have a mind of it's own. The only time it really looks like he tried to make it look nice is if he is going to some formal place, in which he'd usually comb it and maybe slick it back or something half decent looking. On an average day, you'll see his hair just generally tousled, and he probably just let it fall wherever. His hair is long, parts of it reaching his shoulders. It is a very deep brown, but sometimes has an almond colour, depending on the lighting. Once and awhile he'll bleach the top of it blonde, or sometimes his whole head goes blonde, depending on how he feels and whether or not he wants a big change or not. It is usually covering one of his eyes, and he's used to it so he's not constantly swinging his head to get it away from his eyes.
His eyes are a chocolate brown, nothing too exciting. His teeth, however, are not as white as they could be. He has a horrible habit of forgetting to brush, but please, don't tell anyone, he wouldn't want that. Toby has no tattoos, but snake bites for piercings on his lips. He's always liked the way they look, don't ask him why. Usually he'll be wearing at least one of them in, and it's very rare to find them both gone.
Toby is tall and skinny. He reaches 6'3", and weighs about 165 lbs, which is a pretty healthy weight for his height. He's generally happy with the way he looks. His legs are long, which is great for running. His arms are long as well, great for reaching stuff up high in the grocery store.
Generally, Toby will wear anything when it comes to clothes. But he likes jeans, and rarely wears anything else. If he does wear shorts, they're usually quite long, as his legs are kind of skinny and he'd rather not show that off. He likes long sleeve tops, especially hoodies. He also loves to wear t-shirts with stupid ass sayings on them, again, don't ask why, he just does.
the personality,
Toby loves originality. He hates blending in with the crowd, as he finds it to be boring. He loves to party and have a good time, and sometimes goes overboard with drinking, although he does try to hold himself back. One of his favourite things to do is meet new people and make friends, and he's not afraid of making a fool of himself in front of new people either. He knows who he is, and is happy to know that he likes himself. He said once that if he were someone else, he'd probably be friends with himself. He most likely confused himself by adding more words into the sentence, and then laughed at himself, and shrugged his odd behaviour off.
Toby is an amazing guitarist. At least, he'd like to believe so. He knows he's not nearly as good as other people are, but he tries his hardest. He also sings, and his voice is pretty good, although a little bit scratchy, especially after not singing for a bit. His love for music will never leave him, and his guitar is one of his best friends. He appreciates all forms of art, with a special love for poetry. Poetry is much like songwriting, something Toby tries to do, but rarely ever shows anybody his work. It's not that he couldn't handle the criticism, he'd rather just keep what he's created to himself. He mostly writes songs about love, or what he believes in the world. Rarely are his songs metal or hardcore, he'd want people, if anyone was to ever hear him, to be able to understand what he is singing.
In school, he does alright. He's not at the top of the list to get on the high honour roll, nor is he failing. Happily in the middle, he slides through his classes easily, especially music and English, his two favourite classes. As you probably guessed by now, Toby isn't all that athletic. He has his talents, and is perfectly fine knowing that the jocks of the school might bug him for being artistic, but he doesn't really care, and sticks with what he loves.

the past,
Toby was born to a mother of 15. Yeah, it wasn't exactly a planned pregnancy. In fact, his mom, Karen, was about to have an abortion, but when she got to the clinic she changed her mind, thankfully for him. His father was 17, and he and Karen had been going out for a year before this happened, and he had taken off once he heard that she was pregnant, and was never seen again. Who his father was was always kept a secret, and as Toby grew up, he noticed how he was unlike the other kids. He didn't have a father figure. Karen's dad was always away, and Karen didn't have any brothers or uncles or any other guy that was close to her, and so Toby was forced to look up to his friends dad, continuely wishing he was part of their family. As his life continued on, Toby wondered more and more who his father was.
Finally, after not having any contact with the man who had made Karen pregnant, they received a post card from England (Toby and Karen at the time lived in Alberta, Canada. ) Along with the postcard was a very long letter of how sorry Damien, Toby's father, was and how he wanted to become part of Toby's life. This shocked Toby, sending him into a state where he couldn't think, or even breath for what seemed like year, but was only at max, one and a half months. He wouldn't talk to anyone, or eat, or even get out of bed. Karen, fed up with the way Toby was acting, asked him what he thought about Damiens wishes. She had snapped at him when she had said this, and that too shocked Toby, for she hadn't ever been snappy or angry with him before. It was at this moment that Toby realized his life wouldn't be the same, knowing that his father was still out there, and wished to have contact with him. He calls it his revolution, because his thinking about the world had totally changed.
Toby saught something to console him, and although he had always enjoyed music, and had had a guitar for some years now, he never really started playing it until now. He played whenever he could, and singing and playing became his passions, and basically his life. A few months later, Toby reread the letter from his father, and decided to write back. He told Damien all about his life, and how he was hurt, surprised, and a little bit glad he was to hear from his dad. Another few months later, and Toby recieved a letter from Damien again, telling him all about how his life was without Toby and how he'd love to stay in contact and meet each other one day, start a relationship, he had said.
Toby was now nearing sixteen, and they had now started talking to eachother through email, nearly emailing each other every day. The more Toby knew about his dad, the more he wanted to meet him. He seemed like the perfect guy. A year past of this, and now, to his mom's wishes, Toby was moving to Pine Hill Stables. Throughout these years, Toby's mom wasn't sure what she wanted. Half of her was glad to know that Toby finally had a dad, but half of her wanted to put a stop to there conversations.
Meanwhile, when Toby was fifteen, Karen remarried a man named Evan. After a year of being together, they had a baby girl named Lillee, who's a complete angel. Toby doesn't mind Evan, and is happy that his mom found someone she can love and be happy with. He's a good guy, but just hasn't really connected with Toby yet. But Lillee got right to his heart, and Toby loves her like he would his own child.
